The 10-acre park is situated in a serene bushland setting, just 4 kilometres from Cowes and conveniently close to popular attractions such as the Penguin Parade, Seal Rocks, and the Grand Prix Circuit. The Koala Conservation Centre, where you can observe koalas, is located directly across the road. Beautiful beaches, which are patrolled during the summer months, as well as swimming and surfing spots, are less than a 5-minute drive away. Our facilities include a spacious camp kitchen featuring a commercial-sized wood-fired pizza oven. Additionally, we offer Wi-Fi access, an extensive coin-operated games room, and well-equipped playgrounds. The park also provides excellent laundry facilities. Welcome to the Alice Springs Reptile Centre, home to the largest reptile display in Central Australia. Our centre features an extensive range of reptiles, including Terry the Saltwater Crocodile, impressive Perentie Goannas, Thorny Devils, Frill-neck Lizards, and a diverse selection of NT Geckos from the Alice Springs region, Barkly, and the Top End, all showcased in our remarkable Gecko Cave. Don’t miss our daily shows at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3:30 pm. Each session offers an engaging and educational talk about selected lizards and pythons, followed by a supervised handling opportunity. At Alice Springs Reptile Centre, we proudly exhibit over 100 reptiles from more than fifty species in both indoor and naturally landscaped outdoor environments. Terry’s Saltwater Crocodile exhibit features underwater viewing, allowing you to get an up-close view of this formidable predator and capture memorable photos. A key highlight of our centre is the chance to interact closely with the ‘locals.’ We offer informative talks daily that may include feeding and handling of our more amiable reptiles. We extend a special welcome to school groups, providing fun and educational talks covering topics such as habitats, diet, predators, adaptations, snake-bite first aid, and how to avoid snake encounters in the wild. The session concludes with supervised handling of friendly lizards and pythons, often accompanied by excited reactions from students, while parents and teachers observe.
