Arthur River Cruises
The small settlement of Arthur River, located on Tasmania’s rugged west coast, is named after the river it borders and is home to fewer than 40 permanent residents. Situated at the mouth of Tasmania’s only truly wild major river, Arthur River flows through the untouched Tarkine Wilderness, an area that has never been logged or dammed. This river, along with the expansive cool temperate rainforest that drains into the Southern Ocean, exemplifies the area's pristine natural beauty. The coastal dunes are supported by ancient forest giants, including brown top stringybark, blackwood, myrtle, leatherwood, and sassafras, which have been buried in the sand for thousands of years. The location is aptly known as "The Edge of the World" due to its remote position, lying 15,000 kilometres from the nearest landmass, Patagonia on the south-eastern coast of Argentina. 0427885792
