COVID DRIVES MORE AUSSIES TO BUY RVS
With international border closures in place due to COVID-19, Aussies are more keen to buy RVs, hit the road and explore their own backyard.
The pandemic has changed the way we travel, and Instead of piling on the air miles we are now grounded.
Despite that, Aussies are desperate to get out and still enjoy well deserved holiday vacations. And with social distancing being the main aim on everyone’s agenda, it becomes a lot easier when you can bring along your own bathroom, kitchen and bedroom.
CEO of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia Stuart Lamont said “having been cooped up for months, Australians are now turning their attention to traveling within their own backyard.”
This interest in RV ownership comes as Prime Minister Scott Morrison again called for state borders to be reopened to support domestic tourism. Nevertheless, the PM supported localised lock downs in Victoria.
“That’s sensible under the circumstances, and we’d hope that that would mean that some of those restrictions could be eased once the risk has passed,” Mr Morrison said.
Although, the travel industry has taken it on the chin during the COVID crises, the RV market is showing signs of resiliency despite an unfavourable economy and increased unemployment rate.
People now see RVs as a fun and secure way of getting outside and safely enjoying time away.
